Kuandykova Diana: Relationships of KIMEP students.

Kuandykova Diana: Relationships of KIMEP students. Diana is one of my best friends. She made a good article about relationships between KIMEP students. I think that all data that she mentioned in it are true. Honestly I follow the same way as she wrote. But the photo that she posted is a little unfortunate expression of my faceJ. However I became famous at the university for one day. Everybody was coming up to me and asking different kind of questions. Otherwise Diana has good opportunities to be good journalist and PR specialist. I hope some day we will be not just a friends but also successful colleagues.

The Greatest TV Project of Bondarchuk

The latest project of Russian producer Bondarchuk was introduced to audience in November 7, 2006. The conception of this TV epic was made by Sergey Bondarchuk father of Fedor Bondarchuk. Honestly Fedor’s work is really successful because he invited famous Hollywood celebrities to play the main roles. The role of Axenia played famous French actress Delphin Forest. The TV epic was firstly introduced on first Russian channel and had great popularity and success. Fedor Bondarchuk continued his fathers dream to transmit people wonderful and tragic story of love during the WWI. However the Soviet version of “Peaceful Don” was much interesting, but new version of TV epic is more detailed. Also this modern version would be more popular and would attract more attention abroad.

Kazakhstan is making fus on terrible joke.

Sasha Baron Koewen made a rude joke that insulted all citizens of Kazakhstan. He introduced Kazakhstan as down sloping country, but in reality our country is developing with high speed. One of the bravest citizen of Kazakhstan and showman Zhantik striked return blow. Announsing that Borat had defects on his …was one of the greatest idea. Zhantik went to London and call up Borat to chat a little and take his lily colored b…J But unfortunately our native land brother Borat refused to meet with his brother( Zhantik), mother and uncle who cut his p… and b… when he was slightly drunk. This motion that Borat did is talking about his cowardice. Oh, nobody expected that Famous Borat will be threatened by Kazakhstan citizens. Poor guy that cannot follow moral principles and be stable at his announcements. However Zhantik made good example of returning ugliness to terrible people. As for me I think that Borat is really stupid, but looking at him from another side, from the side of show business he is genius. However it is insult and infamy addressed to our country. But he makes an insult with his disgusting jokes to most of celebrities and famous people.
Thanks God that older generation in Kazakhsta do not search the internet, because in that case they would find more detailed information about two sided struggle between brave Zhantik and Ugly Borat. But some people have already heard the information about Borat’s owful comedy and more and more people are becoming aware about this thing. Now Zhantik wants to make another return blow that as he guess will shut Koewen’s dirty mouse.
As for me it would be problem to lately communicate with people abroad, especially in western countries. If I would ever say to foreign people that I am from Kazakhstan, absolutely most of people will lough at me and ask some strange questions about my country. That is the broblem. That is the big problem for most of peoples. Agreeing with my opinion the majority of students hate Borat, because this joke would influence to perception of western people to us.

Newspaper publishing and advertising in the United States of America.

In different countries newspaper advertising has significantly distinctive interest among population. Looking for the USA as one of the greatest unilateral superpower in contemporary world we can say that population of the country is really huge and it seems that numbers of newspaper readers are consequently huge. Taking on account that new informational technologies in such high developed country are used by everyone, there appears some issues. The issue that troubles newspaper edition today is lack of newspaper readers in the reason that the majority of the audience gives their preferences to internet searching. More and more people are reading latest news and advertising through the internet because it is free for some respondent and it is much quicker and easy for another respondent. According to the latest API research asked 95 managers from 25 leading newspapers are complaining that newspaper editions today are missing their opportunity for balanced development as the web does. What about advertising? Is it effective and efficient to put it in newspapers? Unfortunately according to the lack of newspaper readers, dynamics of advertising in newspaper is sloping down. Even the budget of newspaper advertising is much less than internet projects of the news agencies have. According to the Scarborough research 15% of all readers never byes newspapers and do not read printed advertisings. This example was followed by one of the biggest companies New York Times. Their revenues that they received from web advertising for the first half of 2006 increased for 35% to $66. 1 million as in 2005 they got $49 million. On the contrary publishing house of New York Times Company got only 1 % from printed advertising. Looking to the shaky situation of the newspapers and published adverts in it are in a big trouble. It might be really profitable for news agencies to move from printed editions to the internet servings some day. It is not an exception that audience that gives it’s preferences to printed source of news and adverts may disappear one day.

All information were received from www.mediarevolution.ru

The role of printed editions in Kazakhstan.

In comparison with USA newspapers in Kazakhstan can slightly boast by its popularity of newspapers among citizens. Today Kazakhstan’s population is mostly preferred finding information in newspapers. What is the reason of significant interest of public to newspapers and magazines? There exist a few factors that can influence to this issue. But one of the most important factors that need the main focus is low development of new informational technologies. Some local citizens from small regions just do not know about the existence of modern technologies. They even don’t know that today we can use internet as the main source of any information. Leading to this problem some people doesn’t know how to use new technologies. Fortunately the numbers of people that have no ideas about high developed technologies are really small. I think that this problem is not so hard and it is dependent on solving it in short time period without any doubt. The only decision to solve this problem in small and distant regions is to send some qualified professionals to found any knowledge about new informational technologies. Talking about 15 big cities of the country, the use of web and other technologies is highly recognized. However people still like reading traditional printed sources of information. But why? According to this question there appears another reason. People here are a little bit conservative and try to carry on old habits. But these habits are mostly related to old generation of the population. SO, the next factor is related to the advertising and its price in newspapers and magazines. Putting advertising on TV is very effective and it stays on the first place, however advertisers mostly put them in magazines and newspaper because it is chip. If it is hardly necessary to find any information about exact product or company consumer firstly searches it in printed adverts. This also comes from old habits of the Kazakhstan audience. The proof of the wide spread popularity of printed advertising is the budget and profits that they get per six month. The biggest advertising budget had the revenue on the printed advertisings $12 million that included 39 % of the total value. Total expenditures for putting adverts in newspaper consisted $3.5 millions that are 92% of total budget of daily publications. And magazine publications had 6. 3 millions of expenditures that are 20.3 % of total advertiser budgets. All this data are fixed in 2005 and in comparison with 2005 the value of printed adverts in Kazakhstan press grew to 33, 9 %. Coming to deduction we can notice that printed house is glorying today. However progress of internet can lead to the same problems (mentioned above) as USA printings have.

The influence of the new informational technologies to journalism

The history of the internet
starts from the 1957. It was created at the beginning of the cold war between
USSR and USA. Soviet Union made a significant threat for the United States by
creating nuclear weapon and American government made an order that there is an
important need to create reliable communication in case of nuclear attack or
natural cataclysm. According to the history we can see that at the beginning,
internet was created by ARPAnet( Advanced Research Projects Agency) in order to
achieve military objectives. As the time goes by an internet has the huge
development in the world as it is the highest technological tool today. In XXI
century internet became the most important source of information
for majority of
the developing and well developed countries. Every day huge number of people in
the world is serving the internet on order to seek some information, but most of
the populations today are reading latest news.
As the internet is growing in popularity today, it has an influence to internet journalism. More and more journalists use high informational technologies in order to achieve some skills. And I agree that making journalism work on line is much interesting and easy. If journalist is publishing his or her writings on line it can be read by any people in the world. Also it could be good example and practice to borrow some professional experiences. More over, if journalist is far away from news agency it is wonderful possibility to get important information to editorial staff.
In addition there are a lot of web technologies for journalist like weblogs, RSS, newspaper websites. Blogging- is a good opportunity to publish journalist’s opinion. I think that blogging is the best way to express any critical opinion about any political and economic issues. Today some countries have strict rules which claims the prohibition to any political criticism and writing blogs is the most and safe way to express journalists point of view. According to the Jonathan Dube RSS journalist can get any type of online content via RSS as it include different necessary information. Today more and more people try to use RSS and Weblogs and the number of user are rapidly growing. There is an existence of another capability to journalism writing. Any national or international newspaper which is popular creates their newspaper sites. My favorite newspaper site is www.washingtonpost.com. Here I can get
the latest news and fresh editorials and columns. But the only think I need to
do is sign up. Even public relations use internet technologies to advertisements and come untwist. Consequently we can say that mass media is greatly influenced by new informational technologies.

But there is an existence of contradiction. According to the Bivings Group research who examined 100 newspapers in the US came up to the result that new
technologies are taking an advantage in newspaper journalism. But at the same
time it could bring a decline of newspaper readers. If truly say the decline of
readers is in progress today. More and more population gives their preferences
to the internet rather than finding information by conservative way and only old
generation is still continuing reading some news from paper source. So one day
journalism will absolutely move from old style of getting information to new
technologies. As being a student of journalism department I use new
informational technologies and I like it very much. For me it is more convenient
and safe to write online but I also would be happy to write both for newspaper
on line t because it will bring me good practice and
skills.
In the conclusion I would like to say that I do believe that in the future there won’t be newspaper and magazine journalism and new informational technologies would cover journalism. Future generation would prefer to use on line journalism rather than old fashioned sources of information as we new generation like and use high developed information technologies.

Kuandykova Diana

Kuandykova Diana Here is my comments for Diana's entry about Naom Chomsky. I think news filters are very useful for student who are going to be a journalists. As for me "five filters" are very interesting. Before I have heard about rules that journalists have to follow but sinceI have read Diana's article about Noam Chomsky I became more informed about journalism. I hope that in my future carrer of journalist I will use " news filters" to write truthful stories. I also think that "first filter" which tells about money are directly related to our country, to Kazakhstan. That is true that if someone wants to create any TV channel or Radio station and etc. which touches media today, he or she should have a lot of money and relations ( connections). It is not officially said but in fact it is exist. Even to work as a journalist today is very difficult without special connections and money.

Journalism

Journalism Here is my comments for the hottest issue . I liked Ainel's point of view about her issue. I also agree that this problem is has a lot of opinions among student and teachers at KIMEP. But I think that may be there was some other conflicts between administrators and teachers, that is why the problem had an amazingly huge popularity. Also I agree that Peyman did not prove the words he said(wrote) in " Respublica" . Recently I have read the bloggers in " Respublica", there was student's opinions: some of them critisize Bang's policy , some critisize Peyman, but I think that in comparison with other universities we have much better conditions to learn a lot, and moreover we get more useful information by using new technologies. More comforts and new developed opportunities we get from money we pay for education here and most payments comes from president of KIMEP.

Developing of Mass Media.

For the prosperity of journalism in Kazakhstan, there appears more support
from the West. And one of the important roles in developing journalism plays
UNESCO. This organization interprets variety of educational programs to
journalism departments in Kazakh National University and University after
Al-Farabi. Also KIMEP has one of the best approaches to educate highly qualified
journalists and specialists on public relations. All joint co-education follows
by qualified and experienced professors from all over the world. Also there
exists Kazakhstan Press Club. The framework of the press club helps to provide
student and experienced journalist in journalistic skills. Also it has
collaboration with Reuter which provide with qualified trainers from agency. It
lead to the better career of beginning journalists.. Despite of the shaky
condition of the journalism, in the future it will have prosperity and
successful development with the outside influence. Economy of the state is growing and alternatively mass media would progress too. Moreover there flows huge investment to the developement of education in Kazakhstan. Step by step journalism will flourish one day.

Journalism in Kazakhstan.

  1. Today journalism in Kazakhstan needs to be developed as the state stays
developing. There are a lot of issues about training journalists, making them able to use new technologies and get professional skills. Alternatively with the low developed journalism there exists a contradiction in covering stories. More and more readers become confused by observing political and economic news and bored by observing entertainment because journalists do not illustrate exact and interesting meaning of the story. The reason is an old style ofteaching in universities-Soviet type of training. Also institutions after collapsing Soviet Union just did not have good and modern opportunities to train journalists. The same problem of the stock refers to the TV journalism. Now only national informational agency “khabar” has close to be professional and more attractive for audience. Also “caspionet” follows the example of “euronews” identifying the way of broadcasting. And the main challenge is that “caspionet” has English version of broadcasting alternatively to Kazakh and Russian version. But other commercial channels as “ktk”, “rahat” and etc. are suffering from unprofessional performing of programs and news because they have much less financial support than governmental news agencies. As the result middle aged generation mostly watches just a few national channels and other population uses cable TV in order to get more information from foreign or Russian TV. The wide spread popularity and attention has an internet in Kazakhstan society today. On line journalism among observers took the first place in getting information. But again, the foreign websites are more preferable for citizens, because state websites has a lack of information. Even if somebody needs to find any specific articles man gets in trouble; sites have just surface information which shows only introductory home pages. So in any case it's really imposible to avoid critisim of journalism in Kazakhstan.
